Sports Clubs


All your favourite clubs are back again for the start of the new term! All the clubs are run by the Broadfield Academy sports coaches. In every course there will be a range of skills and game play with the focus on development and enjoyment.

To book onto any CSE club, please visit the website at . Spaces come on a first come, first served basis and numbers are limited to 25 per club.

Yr 5 & 6 School Football – Mr Nanson

Monday 3:15pm to 4:15pm School Field

We have a mixed football team who train every Monday with Mr Nanson. We are also soon to introduce an additional girls football team. Training sessions focus on coaching technical ability; developing this into game situations and then applications into competitive matches. We play in the Dacorum School Sports Network League and also enter the Wix Cup.

As well as football, we also focus on improving our character and developing teamwork, resilience and communication. 

Yr 3 -6 Football – CSE

Tuesday 3:15pm – 4:15pm School Field

Master the art of attacking and defending. Small game scenarios, tight control and skill development as well as plenty of match play.

Yr 1 -6 Dodgeball – CSE

Wednesday 3:15pm – 4:15pm Key Stage 2 Hall

Dodgeball is a fun and exciting team game that involves dipping, dodging, ducking and diving. Dodgeball club is available for years 1 to 6 to come along and get involved in an energetic game where you throw dodgeballs at the other team to eliminate them out of the game.  

Year 2 -6 Karate Club – Mr Keegan

Thursday 3:15pm – 4:15pm

Karate classes have been offered at the school for over 9 years and have been of benefit to 100’s of children over the years.

The benefits of karate include: coordination, increased physical and mental activity, developed focus and discipline and increased confidence and improved self-esteem.

Mr Keegan, who runs the after school club, has over 37 years in the martial arts and is a 6th dan black belt. Classes are above all else ‘fun’  for the children attending and provide a safe environment to lean a fascinating new skill.”

Year 1 – 6 Gymnastics – CSE

Thursday 3:15pm – 4:15pm Key Stage 2 Hall

If you like to jump off the beams, flip off the bars, follow your dreams, and reach for the stars then come along to our gymnastics club. Gymnastics club is on every Thursday in the key stage 2 hall where you can use lots of the equipment to learn new skills.

Yr 1 & 2 Football – CSE

Friday 3:15pm – 4:15pm Key Stage 1 Hall

Open to anyone in year 1 and 2, come along and talk with your feet, play with your heart. Dribbling races, passing drills and shooting skills. Dedicated match play time and large focus on core skill development. “Teamwork makes the dream work” is our moto.
