Knutsford School
February 2 2015

The teaching of computing at Knutsford aims to equip children with the necessary skills for the world in which they live and for the ever more computer reliant world in the future. It is designed to support children in becoming safe, competent and creative users of technology, where they are able to build essential skills. They develop understanding through using a range of applications on a variety of devices. At the same time it will inspire them to become productive creators and designers of technology, by introducing the essential aspects of computer science in a way which blends with the ethos and learning approaches of the primary phase.

There is a particular emphasis on unplugged approaches, which enable learners to understand how technology and systems work and are controlled, before using any computer-based applications.

E-safety is paramount to us and it is taught explicitly and discreetly to ensure the safety and well-being of our children (please see our e-safety page under the Children +Learning tab).
